October Update

Posted in General by Sivan

Hi and welcome to Running Blind’s website!

Running Blind is a Melbourne based performance company, dedicated to creating political works, which sit somewhere between contemporary performance and visual art.

This year has been a very busy one for the company, with four new projects developed, exhibited and performed.

In March this year Running Blind exhibited a new video installation titled Wall Stories, a six-screen video and sound installation at fortyfivedownstairs Gallery in Melbourne. The footage was filmed by Sivan Gabrielovich in Palestine and Israel in 2007, and accompanied by written texts and sound design by sound artist Anna Liebzeit.

Most recently Sivan completed a TransLab residency at Arts Hub, where she developed Scratched, a new performance installation which used Israeli soldiers’ testimonials as its beginning point. The fist stage development was very successful, and the company will continue to develop the work towards a full production in 2009.

The company’s video work, What Do You Think About Me? will be showing at the Meat Market in November this year. The project involvs members of Melbourne’s Israeli and Palestinian communities, who have come together for a series of group meetings and perosnal interviews.

And finally, Scratched, the exhibition, is opening at TCB Art Inc. on the 8th of October, and will run for two weeks. The exhibition is based on the same material from the show, only this time approcahing the issues from a visual arts perspective.

For more detailed information about these projects, please go to Current Productions page.

If you find the company’s work interesting and wish to be notified of future projects and events, please leave a comment on this website with your email or contact detail and you will be added to our mailing list.
